You think you're tough?

Monday, 7/9/12

Warm up: 1k jog and usual stretching ... I felt pretty okay after the jog... I didn't feel as winded.

A: 15 minutes to find 1 rep max : power clean

B: 5 rounds for time:
3 power cleans 185lbs
12 games standard push-ups
15 pull ups

Results A: For some reason, I was having the worst trouble with my form yesterday and it was pissing me off. I think I was overthinking on what I'm doing (thus, slow movement/transition). I haven't felt that frustrated in a while. It's definitely something I want to work on. I maxed out at 90 lbs.

Results B: I lowered my weight to 85 lbs, you know, just 100 lbs less than Rx, lol. Once I got the rhythm of doing the power cleans, I felt my form get better. Not by much, I mean, at least I didn't hurt myself, right? lol. For the first 3 rounds for the games standards push ups, I did regular push ups. By the 4th round, I scaled down to my knees. By my 5th round, I did half regular, and half to my knees. I felt pleased about that considering my lack of upper body strength. For the pull ups, Coach A scaled it down to 5 negative pull ups (jump and pull myself up, then lower slowly) and 10 jumping pull ups. I swear to Bob that that was pretty damn hard. Although, in such a short time, I could already feel an ounce of strength developing. It took me 13:48.

I'm definitely disappointed with myself and my results for the 1RM power cleans. I put too much pressure on myself. lol. I upchucked right before I left to go WOD, I hope I'm not getting sick so I'm hoping that my lack of consistent form was from my upset stomach.

I was going to go running after, I felt good. Did I go? No... I did, however, get my additional cardio whilst bar hopping with one of my good guy friends. Downside? Getting home at 3:00 am.

I hope I can get some energy in me by the time I WOD today. We'll see. Partying and staying up late isn't my life anymore, lol. I woke up with shoulder pains and tummy pains (not sure if it's from WODing yesterday and/or the disco inferno from last night and/or the alcohol). I only had 2 Midori Sours and I was loopy over that.

What can I say? I'm hardcore.

Popular posts from this blog about that comfort zone

So, for the past year and a half, I have made it a point to do things to get out of my comfort zone. Even if it's as minuscule as going to farmers market.
BTW, I went to a farmers market for the first time on Saturday! The BFF has been wanting to go and we finally had the chance to. So, you know how they sell organic and fresh produce? Yeah... We didn't get any of that. However, we did taste test some fruits and it was friggin bombskies!

Nutella filled Hawaiian donut. What's up.

BFF got her flowers and I got my macaroons from Munch Bakery. Turns out her dad and my dad golf together.
Random question: how far would you drive to buy a couple pairs of pants?
To answer that for myself... 80 miles round trip... And the pants weren't even for me, lol.
Shoutout to the BFF for sticking it out with me!

After four, and I repeat, FOUR hours of searching for pants, the BFF and I met up with Big Bruddah at Gen KBBQ! Best decision of my life!
Another comfort-zone-breaker... I …

Skee TV: Fort Minor

So let me tell you. I've never won anything... EVER. During my Monday mini break, I was on instagram and saw that Skee TV was having a giveaway. Pretty much just comment on that picture of Mike Shinoda/Fort Minor and that's my entry.
Skee TV added me on instagram, and commented on one of my pictures (Rawle D. Lewis) saying I was chosen! I emailed them and boom. I got my tickets.
I followed Fort Minor since Mike Shinoda created it and man, it was AWESOME. And I can knock it off my bucket list - going to a rap/hip hop show. Also got a glimpse of Mr. Hahn!
I don't care what you say. I'm happy AF.

Since I won, the Skee TV rep hooked it up with some merchandise. Mike Shinoda signed the snapback. I fangirled so hard.

After the show, we managed to head to Guisados and got some mafuggin tacos.
