Enlightenment

I decided to take Tuesday off for my rest day because I finally got to spend some quality time with Lucy! It's been way too long. She's been super busy with school, but you gotta do what you gotta do! We ended up going straight to TGIFriday's after I got off work and spent 2 hours catching up. It was lovely.

Warm up: 100 rope turns and stretching
 
A: Snatches 7 x 1
A (beginners): Power cleans 7 x 1
 
B: Clean & Jerk 7 x 1
 
C (both advanced/beginner): 10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1
Burpee broad jumps
Abmat sit ups
 
I was given the choice to do either beginner's A or advanced A and B. Me being me, I decided to do the advanced work out... thus I was instructed to go to the front of the room. The pressure. OMG. THE PRESSURE. THE JUDGING. Can you only predict my results?
 
Results A: 55-65-70-75-80-85-95*
Got a new snatch PR! :)
 
Results B: 55-65-70-75-80-85-95-100 ... I obviously did more. But I really need to improve on my cleans. I think the last time I did clean and jerks was in late July. I maxed at the same weight. I think I can do more but getting the cleans right are my priority right now.
 
Results C: 8:30
I thought this looked fun when I checked the website for the WOD. Doing it... not so much. Althought I really love burpee broad jumps. Makes me feel like a kid again.
 
Last night's WOD was pretty fun. I'm glad I did it all. After the work out, I decided to try GHD sit ups again. I need to learn to trust the fixture and myself. This girl, who I'll call "M" was really helpful. We were cheering each other on during our WOD. She took the time to show me how to feel for the GHD sit ups. I even practiced my handstand push ups. Also, I asked how long it took her to learn how to kip. Guess who learned how to do kipping pull ups last night? YUP. I don't have the upper body strength to fully pull myself up, but she showed me how to get the movement down and to use the band. I did two in a row! She saw me do it and we all woo'd and she told me to put that on the PR board! I'm so grateful for my coaches' help and the help of a fellow crossfitter.
 
This morning, I decided to weight myself. I decided to start my fitness shenanigans end of February/early March. From March until June, I half assed it. Less than half assed it. No lie. I started crossfit at the end of June. I'm in the middle of my 3rd month. I've lost a total of 18-20 lbs from March to today. If only I could get my eating habits squared away, imagine the results?!
 
I think last night was THE NIGHT to make me think to myself, "yes, I made the right decision."
 
Next... gotta practice those double unders.
